Felicia McElhaney, Author
Felicia McElhaney is a resident of Covington, Kentucky who began writing stanzas and holding virtual story times for her co-workers’ children during the COVID pandemic. Her poetic, whimsical style delighted readers and listeners. She hesitated to publish without an illustrator to add that special magic to her words. Almost three years after completing Fuzzy Bear, it was announced that she was going to be a grandmother!

Wanting to make Fuzzy Bear come to life for her first grandchild, Felicia approached her co- grandmother, Debbie Van Leeuwen, a muralist from Lexington, Kentucky and the two of them brought the book to fruition. “Fuzzy Bear” and “Worm Hunter” are testament to Felicia and Debbie’s creativity. Most importantly, their books are a reflection of the love they share for their grandchildren and the gift of grandparenting.
